The Do's and Don'ts of Dischargeable Credit Card Debt
Credit card debt may not be dischargeable when the card application was fraudulent or the
card was used without any intention of paying. If that's the case then the card issuer may
allege fraud by filing an adversary proceeding alleging that the debt be excluded from discharge.
Other circumstances can prevent discharge of credit card debt, including:

Newly issued cards

Credit increases and/or cash advances right before filing

Excessively large balances at the time of filing or exceeding credit limits

Purchasing luxury items 90 days prior to filing

Borrowing on one card to pay another
